Registration: To register for The Whittier Holiday Decorating Challenge, an entry form showing intent to participate must be completed and submitted online through WhittierCF.org no later than November 30, 2021.
Who Can Enter: Businesses, organizations, churches, clubs, school groups, and residents who are located within the City of Whittier boundaries may enter and participate. There are two divisions: Residents and Businesses/Organizations. There will be a cash prize for first, second and third places in each division.
Residents: 1st place - $250; 2nd place - $150; 3rd place - $100
Business/Organizations/Churches/Clubs: 1st place - $250; 2nd place - $150; 3rd place - $100
Cost to Participate: There is no cost to enter The Whittier Holiday Decorating Challenge
Decorating Requirements: Entries will be judged on “curb appeal.” Indoor decorations will not be included in the judging unless they can be viewed from the outside, i.e., windows, doors, etc. Judging will be based on originality, arrangement, theme, and overall presentation.
Judging: Judges will be selected from the Whittier Community Foundation Board of Directors and supporters. Judging will take place between Friday, December 10—Sunday, December 12, 2021. Entrants may select whether they’d like their display to be judged during the daytime (12 p.m.—5 p.m.) or nighttime (5 p.m.—11 p.m.). All decisions of the judges will be final.
Announcement of Winners: Winners will be announced during a special Facebook Live program on Wednesday, December 15 at 6 p.m.
